- at man frit giver sit program væk, men dem som retmæssigt har erhvervet det, må frit distribuere det.

- at man vedlægger kildekoden med programmet, men så der skal dog være et skriftligt tilbud om, at det kan anskaffes for en pris, som ikke er større end de faktiske omkostninger ved at levere den.

Ingen kan altså kræve at få udleveret kildekoden til OpenBizBox medmindre de selv har erhvervet den på legal vis herunder modtaget en kopi af en anden OpenBizBox-kunde.

Idéen med GPL og fri software er, at give retmæssige brugere visse friheder herunder friheden til at distribuere (dele) og modificere.

Så jo, jeg kan anvende GPL v. 2 i den her tråd. Og ud fra GPL v. 2 licensen, så skal jeg have adgang til deres kildekode, i det øjeblik de udgiver den til andre (deres kunder i dette tilfælde). Det kan hverken deres arbejdstimer eller andet ændre på.

Det samme gælder iøvrigt din egen osCommerce fork, hvis du har givet din kildekode til en eneste kunde. Gør du det? I så fald vil jeg gerne udnytte min ret til at modtage en (gratis) kopi af dette system.

GPL v. 3 udkom i 2007, ved ikke om det er den du blander sammen?

Hvis 1km1km havde været kunde hos GP eller havde indgået en aftale med dem, så har du ret - man har fuld adgang til den kode der stilles til rådighed.

GP er dog i sin fulde ret til at opkræve en beløb for udført arbejde, hvilket kan være i form af en engangsbetaling eller en månedlig ydelse.
Hvilket de ville gøre hvis du kontaktede dem for at få koden "udleveret".

I 2005 var GPL 1.0 gældende, så du kan ikke anvende GPL 2.0 i denne tråd, og der har netop været ændringer omlring ejerskab m.m. fra 1 til 2.
